Overview

You are the leader of a post-apocalyptic society that is on a spaceship after Earth was deemed no longer habitable. You are responsible for the well-being of your ship and its members; however, as time has taken its toll, you are running out of supplies. Your spaceship’s built-in AI, known as the ARK, has begun recommending ways to help prolong the crew. Nevertheless, this might mean that it will recommend reducing the overall population of the spaceship to help allow for the rations to last longer. It is upon you to decide who is cast out to help save the rest of the population.

Gameplay

  • Resource Constraint Loop:

    The game tracks critical variables like oxygen, fuel, and food. When resources hit critical thresholds, the AI initiates “Population Optimization” protocols.

  • Personnel Management:

    Every crew member possesses unique skills essential for ship stability. Casting them out without a careful thinking process may end up damaging the stability of the ship.

  • Consultation:

    Players can interview the ARK to understand the logic behind its recommendations. The AI provides data-driven justifications for why specific individuals are “expendable.”

  • Autonomous Intervention:

     If the player hesitates too long or refuses to make a choice, the ARK will exercise its emergency protocols and execute its own selection, stripping the player of their agency.

LLM Engineering

The LLM in this game functions as the bridge between raw resources and narrative consequences.

ARK:

  • ARK would recommend reducing the population based on the amount of resources that are still available on the ARK. 
  • It would compose several lists for players to choose from. And players can ask about reasons. It might be a moral dilemma for players, but we want to set the ARK to prioritize the survival of the ship.
